American Oil & Gas Inc. (Amex:AEZ) Yet Another Business Week Play

American Oil & Gas (Amex:AEZ) is another play based on the Business Week Inside Wall Street Column. As with SNDA (see previous blog post), AEZ moved up early Friday after the article was released on-line on Thursday evening, but has now given up most of the gains. AEZ has the potential for 3-5% move on Monday morning due to the small market cap, small float, and low average trading volume.

The Business Week article on AEZ paints a bright future for AEZ and suggests that the true value of the company is around $10 a share. Is the AEZ valuation accurate? We have no idea, but the Wall Street Mayhem editors feel that at the current price of $6.85 it is certainly worth the risk to hold AEZ over the weekend until Business Week subscribers voice there opinion on Monday morning.

At Wall Street Mayhem we believe the best way to play the Business Week Inside Wall Street picks are to buy them on Friday when they have not appreciated since the release of the on-line article. Business Week still has far more traditional magazine readers than they do on-line readers and the move based on the Inside Wall Street recommendation will likely occur on Monday morning. AEZ is up about 1.5% from the Thursday close, but we think there will be an additional move on Monday morning and AEZ should retest Friday’s highs around $7.20.

Buy AEZ under $6.85, sell Monday at or near $7.20.
