Shanda Interactive Entertainment Ltd. (Nasdaq:SNDA) the Business Week Play

Shanda (Nasdaq:SNDA) will be featured in this week’s Inside Wall Street column. The article is highly positive about SNDA and due to SNDA’s relatively small normal volume the article should have a positive effect on the stock. The column appears on-line on Thursday evenings, but most people do not receive the magazine until the weekend. Often this column will cause the underlying stock to move up on Friday morning after the on-line crowd digests the information. Sometimes these moves last throughout the trading day on Friday, sometimes they do not. In SNDA’s case the move has faded and SNDA is now trading near its closing price on Thursday.

At Wall Street Mayhem we believe the best way to play the Business Week Inside Wall Street picks are to buy them on Friday when they have not appreciated since the release of the on-line article. Business Week still has far more traditional magazine readers than they do on-line readers and the move based on the Inside Wall Street recommendation will likely occur on Monday morning.

Buy SNDA under $20.25 (currently trading at $20.21), sell Monday at $20.50.
